mime to st. francis

i can't help but wonder how the world might be if only more acted such as St. Francis had in early medieval times; without the preaching of the birds of course. think about it, if we all tried to act as jesus did, meaning to better the world in some form or another, possibly without the fasting on 1/2 loaf of bread for 40 days as francis had, how would the world change? all of the possibilities that could arise out of this situation only gives me hope for a chance of change for the not so distance future of which i, regretfully, and slightly am fearful of. what will become of our world if we don't honestly realize our potential and power that we could have the affect to change?
