Pretty pretty pretty things...?

I want spring weather to be here so badly I can't even handle it anymore.
But then again, this wintery weather keeps me on track and helps me get things done since it's too yucky outside to play.
Things are coming up so quickly and I've realized this for sometime now...but it's now starting to become real and I don't want it to. I'm not yet ready.
Lyrics for today: "And I wish you could just find home"-Lonely (Yael Naim)

Black Butterfly

Schedule for next fall/this summer has parked it's ugly shadow right in front of me.
Don't get me wrong, I am the type of person who becomes excited about these types of things...but being overloaded with possibilities and choices...kills me.
'If I take this summer class...then I can continue this fall with this...but I need to take this too, I just want to get it done, but this works better with my schedule.."
I give up for right now. I'll deal with it later.

Women's retreat-aaaaamazing. That's all I really have to say about that, there's just so much to write about, there's not enough space. Summed up: I love community. The end.

I wish I had time to read. I bought two books online the other day...I DON'T have time to read them, I don't know when I will. There is another one that was recommended to me that I am really intrigued about. The thought of picking it up and soaking in the words and to just really meditate about it sends waves of jealousy through my body. I just want to have time to read a book right now...but I don't. I don't want to not give a book the justice it deserves by simply skimming through it, giving it a minute or two to mull over me and to then move on with my life...I don't work like that. I need a while to really read and soak it all in and then immerse myself within the story. Books are soooo much better that way.

I have fallen back in love with Laura Veirs and Kate Walsh.
After a short leave of absence, they are back in the family of wonderful sounds I love to listen to on a daily/hourly basis.

Song for today: About Today (The National)
(Probably the song for the past week or so)

Lyrics for today:
Bury My Head (Kate Walsh)
Why cant you be different from the rest?
Oh, won't you surprise me instead?
I've had it up to here,
Please just be my darling, my dear.

Many loves...

Lately, lines from the show have been popping into my head.
This hasn't happened in a long time.
I forgot how wonderful it was to have this happen.
A simple joy that makes me smile.
I don't know why, but I find much happiness when it does.

I caravan down to Karlie's BEAUTIFUL cabin in Wichita tomorrow for Womens Retreat-I am so excited about this. I need this get away with strong, bold, loving, intentional, and wise women gathered together to share life...so great!

Struthio camelus

While reading wikipedia today, I stumbled upon our dear friend the Ostrich. Even though you learn about animals in, lets say Kindergarten, I found a few things amazing about this animal that I felt I needed to share with the world.

-"If cornered, it can cause injury and death with a kick from its powerful legs."..."Their legs can only kick forward." --- I find this HILARIOUS. (Picture an Ostrich kicking vigorously...but only kicking forward, funny!...Ok, so I'm a horrible person with an awful sense of humor. I'm sorry.)

-"In popular mythology, the Ostrich is famous for hiding its head in the sand at the first sign of danger."

-"It is the only living species of its family, Struthionidae." (Funny name).

-"When threatened, the Ostrich will either hide itself by lying flat against the ground, or will run away"

-"...world's fastest two-legged animal." (The best part)

Meshed...

I have a lot on my mind these days-especially today.
So I know that this is already going to be really 'skater brained', so I'm just going to list things I want to write about today.

-I didn't get a ticket and I've been parked in a two hour parking spot since nine this morning-not even a chalk mark.

-I have been meeting a lot of people for coffee these past few weeks and it is one of my favorite things to do-ever. If you know me, even boys, please-lets get coffee sometime soon. Okay? Good.

-There is a really really cute family that just had their picture taken out back of Java.

-My roommates/close Manhattan friends all did AMAZING things for spring break; I feel lucky to have strong beautiful roommates-I really do feel blessed.

-My life right now is consumed with memorizing. That's all I do. Not just for the show, but for everything. It's weird.

-I read a great article today that really set me at ease: http://www.helium.com/items/235540-first-matthew-28have-considered

-I used to be able to study with music, but now I just daydream. Even classical...I find myself becoming so caught up with stories it's ridiculous.

-I spend way more money on coffee than I should.

-Lucia, has a daughter...she is only 15. I wonder what the name of her daughter is. I bet she is just as beautiful as her mother, just as strong...The realization I came to last night is that recently, my prayers should be outward towards others, like the protection of Lucia and her daughter in Africa...but I have found that I have been selfish lately. I feel I say 'I a lot'-A flaw that I...that is being worked on.

-I went to the rec twice yesterday...I can't move.

-The children I work with are truly the light of my life. More inspiration than I could ever ever ask for. I wish I could be in Neverland sometimes...but then I realize that I like being a grown up too...and Michael Jackson freaks me out.

-I need milk and want to buy flowers today. I am also out of canvas.

-Spring is upon us now more than ever before...I am delighted...but sad that my scarves will be packed away for the warm months to come.

Made of Whale Bone-strong.

I just remembered that I have another corset fitting this Wednesday.
Obviously, I felt the need to blog about it.
I am so excited.
I have learned from past experiences, so this will be fantastic. No problemo.
Can't wait.

I want to go to a royals game soon.
This will be a nice spring escape from the craziness of my life.
I have made a schedule for my life. Day by Day.
I will only look at it day by day. No sooner. I start to break out in hives.
Stress is not a thing my body deals with well. I'll tell you later if you ask in person. Not a thing to blog about...weird. (But I really don't have hives).

I wish I could win an award so that I could give a speech. Not for me personally, but so that I could give thanks to everyone in my life who has helped me these past few months with..well, everything. Maybe I'll just bake them something. Or throw them a party, parties are nice.
My friends are like...whale bones in a corset; They're strong, very strong, and close to me and keep my sitting straight. (Adam...that metaphor was for you-shout out).

Now I sound silly. I just wanted to talk about my fitting...which was strange to begin with. Hmmm...

so long farewell to you my friend.

Listening to: Allison Krause 'New Favorite'

I sold yankee candles all through high school in a store. Lets just say while other high schoolers and college students might come home smelling of grease or smoke, I came home smelling as fresh as newly clean laundry. Literally (Linen). Or a baked pie (Farmhouse Apple).
Long story short, I like candles-but not all. I have favorites (don't tell anyone). All time favorite-Pineapple Paradise. So good. I can't even explain the goodness of this candle. So many memories come back to me.
This sounds ridiculous but this candle and this candle alone puts me in a good mood. No matter the place, time, situation; Pineapple paradise does justice to it's own name. Paradise indeed. Perfect in every way. I won't even describe the wonderfulness of the smells this compact jar of wax puts off because there simply is not enough room in this entire blog.
They have retired Pineapple paradise. I've known this for a little over two years now, so I've been collecting votives, large jars, small jars, medium jars, oils, tarts, tea lights, anything...I am at my wits end. I've searched the country over...no more paradise. No more good memories. No more happiness. Story of my life.
I would light the wick of a Pineapple Paradise in a time like this...but I am conserving the last little bit for something so severe that chocolate, large rubber green balls, The National, or Gilmore Girls would not be able to fix.

Bouncing Ball of Joy

So I have this thing for obscure obsessions. Old houses, the beauty of cherry wood, throw pillows, any and all types of paper products, and recently added to the list:balance balls.
There it was, playing table to my easter basket this morning next to my brothers soon to be broken skateboard that the amazing 'Easter Bunny' brought. I had no desire for one, have never really given them a second thought. I can't decide if I should be offended that my mom bought me one or truly excited that she just knows me so well that instinctively she knew I would have a ball with it...literally.
Everything about this overly large apple green ball of air is fun.
Opening the box-fun.
Blowing it up-way fun.
Balancing on it-even more fun.
Attempting treacherous tricky almost life threating tricks on the ball of green-you're mind wouldn't even be able understand the fun that has happened.
I feel as if a piece of my life will be spent with this ball.
I realize how silly and crazy I sound, but I wish you could just sit on this bouncing ball of air so you could comprehend my fulfillment.
...I'm sitting on it right now.
Maybe Santa will bring me a bob sled...I don't ever think about those...I can see those being fun.

'Whistle'ful Romance

I can't whistle. I wish I knew how...but I have decided that it is impossible for me to whistle.
Wishful thinking has my mind reeling that if I were to ever learn how to whistle it would happen in a foreign country by some 'sweep you off your feet perfect' Italian man. He would notice me watching an ice cream trolley pass by on the rickety stone roads as I would then try and mimic the catchy tune by...whistling. Obviously since I cannot whistle, as all kind Italian gentleman do, he would teach me-while we shared a gelato together. This, of course, would be a very romantically comedic moment or as some in Hollywood might call it, the "meet greet".
As I said before...I can't whistle. But I sure wish I knew how...or maybe I'm glad I don't. I like ice cream...I've never met an Italian man, but I hear they're very sincere, and I WOULD like to learn how to whistle...I see a trip to Europe unfold before my very eyes.

Scrubs to Songs

I am friends with Zach Braff on myspace.
Don't hold it against me that A)I have a myspace or B)...I'm 'friends' with someone who is among many of the beautiful people in Hollywood.
My excuse: He has good music on his myspace.
Truth. No lies.
Among one of many is an amazing artist from New York 'Jaymay'. I love her dearly. She sounds a bit like Ingrid Michaelson...but then again not really.
Many of my other favorites that contribute to my life's never-ending narration by music includes (not from Zach Braff): Sam the Boy, Melanie Horsnell, Chris BathGate, damien rice, sunbear (dear friend of mine), april motson, john pizzarelli(an angel and blessing to all who listen, honestly), ligthspeed champion, edith piaf, samantha tobey, alli rogers, margot and the nuclear so and so's, eisley, sigur ros (ahhhh, who needs alcohol or chocolate to drown your sorrows away when you can listen to sigur ros to fix your day), elliott smith, spoon, the frames, joshua radin, golden shoulders, mogwai, nick drake, the national, glen hansard(the frames), emiliana torrini, shearwater, low, cherry poppin daddies, ingrid michaelson, foy vance, copeland, kate havnevik, laura veirs, barnaby bright, (the following are localish-but still very close to my heart) shhh/kingdom phylum, margo may, flame hand robot, tyler gregory, mccoy, manipulator alligator.
(I cleaned my facebook today). It's so cluttered and in ways it creeps me out that everyone snoops into everyone's business...So instead I add these things to my blog. I suppose I could delete my facebook, as well as my myspace...but then how, I ask you, would I be connected with the real world?!?! Phone calls, coffee dates, dinner with friends, walks in the park, play dates...those are crazy ideas! Absolute insanity. Lets face it, we all have a part of us that we want others to see...an E True Hollywood inside scoop to our souls.
